A limited edition letterpress book by Gaspereau Press collecting Henry David Thoreau's observations during his foray into maple syrup production during the spring of 1856. Two illustrations were created by JJ for the project -- one of the forest Thoreau describes for the end pages, and a title page illustration depicting Thoreau's slip in the snow as he carried home a bucket of maple sap.
