The art of JJ Steeves lives here.

Yesterday’s tote bag finally finished up and properly photographed. As I said, I am hoping to post these on Etsy, but I’d like to do it when I have at least 5 done. This Saturday I managed to sell three bags, so I haven’t been able to keep enough around for the Etsy shop, alas. (No complaints here, I’ll tell you. Instead, many many many thankyous!).

And finally, the finished product. I’ve been too busy stuffing my face with junk food to try and take a photograph to post this. I’m content with how this tote turned out, and I look forward to making more like it. Could be a good exercise in actually finishing that which I begin.jei

A better photograph of the scrap bag from last night, which has been swooped up by one Mr J Reid. I received some great feedback from folks regarding the scrap bags (thanks very much to all of you), so in the future they will be up for sale as well, the price depending on how many hours went into hand-painting the tote. Thanks a bunch folks, every little bit helps!jei
EDIT: SOLD

I made this tank top today by looking at another, similar dress I had made a few summers ago, and pulling some serious trial & error. The fabric is repurposed from two skirts I had every intention of wearing, but just never did. That is, generally, the story of my closet. Anything I don’t wear for six months gets made into something else, or tossed onto a friend’s living room floor for a clothing swap. Handmade! It’s good for everyone!jei

There have been (lengthy) periods in my life wherein I ate a bag of chips (sometimes small, sometimes large….mostly large) a day. My partner still gets frustrated when he discovers I had chips for supper. jei

A Polaroid postcard for Ollie Jarman, the cool cat who suggested I turn these doodles into snail mail. Such a great idea, so Ollie deserves all the credit. If you like dachshunds, photography, or skateboarding you ought to take a gander at his blog.

This comic came into existence following a phone conversation with my parents after a bad relapse. I’m known for making dark jokes during times of duress, especially about myself. Often they pull a scowl or pursed lips from my listeners. This one caused my father to crack up. Ask anyone close to me, my motto in life is if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.

Another drawing requested by Jordan Shiveley. This time it’s a rust monster, also of Dungeons & Dragons fame. These fellas are pretty neat, I have to say. They eat metal. Seriously! Metal! Funky stuff. This has been a great exercise. I have to give Jordan a solid nod for lighting the fire under my ass. jei

This is what I look like when I get an interview for a full-time call centre job. Excited about the prospect of having a small savings, devastated with how I will potentially be spending my days: on the telephone, selling stuff.jei

Yesterday my buddy Jordan Shiveley asked me to draw him a beholder from Dungeons & Dragons. I took this as a challenge to draw something I am completely unfamiliar with, while also indulging in my adoration of monsters.
For anyone else who doesn’t know what a beholder is, you can check out the wiki here. They seem pretty neat to me, as an outsider at least.
If anyone else would like to suggest a drawing subject let me know, as this is great practice for me.

Jei The JanitorStuff We Find On The Bar Floor, edition.
We really have found all of this, and more, on the floors after closing. There’s other stuff I haven’t added yet, but I think I have drawn enough filth for one day.
