I made this tank top today by looking at another, similar dress I had made a few summers ago, and pulling some serious trial & error. The fabric is repurposed from two skirts I had every intention of wearing, but just never did. That is, generally, the story of my closet. Anything I don’t wear for six months gets made into something else, or tossed onto a friend’s living room floor for a clothing swap. Handmade! It’s good for everyone!

![A super-rad all-gals band Like A Motorcycle — based here in Halifax — asked me to do them up a gig poster. Posters are more fun to make than the average freelance request, and illustrating them entirely by hand is my favourite way to play. Although there are three other bands on the bill, because Like A Motorcycle approached me, I thought I’d cater a bit to their band name. All the mechanical parts you see on the poster are taken from an exploded view of a motorcycle engine (fascinating stuff). I really enjoyed drawing the engine parts, so I may endeavour to practice illustrating tech like that more often, if only for the pure fun of it. It was also an excellent exercise in scale [insert uproarious laughter]. I really need to work on scale.
And to all those in Halifax, Nova Scotia, be sure to hit up this event. I’m told it’s going to be a phenomenal show, so you’ll definitely see me there. Just hunt for the chick with the blonde hair that looks as though it has never been brushed.
